Rio 2018 - World Championships

The season is coming to an end with the World Championships here in beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

For the past two and a half weeks I have been in Rio de jJaneiro training on the course built for the 2016 Olympic Games and exploring this beautiful city. It has been an amazing trip so far that has featured an amazing paddling venue, stunning views, beautiful beaches and lots of sun.

The focus has switched from a training vacation into race mode with the competition now upon us. I have been focused on this competition ever since returning from the first three World Cups. All the hard work and preparation has been done, and it is time to have some fun and race! I'm super excited to get on the start line tomorrow morning and see what I can do!

The bonus of this race being here in Brazil is that there is not much time change for anyone who wants to tune in back home. I will be wearing bib #44 and I am off at 10:27am tomorrow ( September 26th). Anyone back in Ottawa should note Rio is an hour ahead of you, so 9:27am back home, mom.
